What happens at school

Your work as a fellow begins by working with our partner school through a ten-month teaching placement, fulfilling one academic school year. There, you will have a taste of what it’s like to be a teacher and witness the direct impact you give underprivileged students.

What will you teach

You will teach with one of our partner school based on how your individual background, interests, and abilities fit the need of our partner school. There are no limits to the subjects you can teach. This could be Chinese, Maths, English or Science but the decision is an interplay between availability and best fit. Aside from developing classroom plans, you will also be responsible for leading new or existing extra-curricular activities. Rest assured that our summer training will prepare you well for these roles.

Partner Schools

Teach4HK partners with both primary and secondary schools where over 50% of their student population are underprivileged students. Note that “underprivileged students” refers to students receiving government assistance (either through Comprehensive Social Security Assistance CSSA and/or School Textbook Assistance).
